Nikki and Nigel make a great team: his showmanship and front-of-house skills married with her friendly customer service and rigorous attention to details mean that they can make your visit truly memorable. And if you’re very lucky, they’ll even tell you how they met – but that’s a story for another time and place.

Hi I’m Nigel, an Englishman by birth. The Manxie’s refer to me as a “Stopover” as I’ve been on the Island for nearly 30 years.
My background has been in hospitality and catering for many years, working with and trained by numerous famous chefs. My proudest moment was serving The Queen mother & Prince Charles at Windsor Castle. I ran The Thames hotel in Maidenhead, a popular watering hole with many TV stars.
I moved to the island back in the Mid 80s re opening the Ramsey Beach Hotel, I then went on to run the Grand Island Hotel also in Ramsey for 10 years. This is where I made a lifelong friendship with Sir Norman Windsor. It was also a busy time at the hotel in the 90s as serveral films with made here. The Grand Island became the main hotel for the stars and crews. My claim to fame is that I kissed Catherine Zeta Jones long before Michael Douglas. I will certainly keep you entertained with some amazing stories as we tour along this magnificent island.
More recently I played the Butler in TLC’s “Suddenly Royal” which was filmed here.
Having been running the B&B with Nikki for the last 10 years we’ve had more and more requests for tour around the island. Let me show you around and the highlight will be serving you afternoon in my butler’s outfit. It’s all very “Downton Abbey” style and, of course, I know where the best cake shops are!
Hi I’m Nikki. A Manxie by birth. My Manx heritages goes back to the 1600’s, with my maiden name of Kermode being of Norse and Irish ancestry.
I was blessed growing up on the Island, you have so much freedom as children to wander the glens and hills all in search of the little people (fairies).
I have a great passion for sharing my knowledge with everyone. It’s so lovely to welcome people, some have connections with the island and hearing those stories and helping find where their ancestors came from is a real pleasure. I’m a member of the Manx Family History Society and can help trace ancestors and have been grave hunting with many a guest.
The Isle of Man is my paradise island. It’s a stunning place with lots to see and do all year round. I love walking the dogs through the glens, playing with them on the beach or just strolling down to the harbour for an ice cream. To sit on the beach with a glass of bubbly and watch the sun go down is magical.
Having travelled and worked all over the world, Isle of Man is home for me. I have used those years of experience and paid lots of attention to the level of comfort in our guests’ rooms.
I truly value every type of guest and will out of my way to ensure that you not only have a good stay with us but a great one.

For those of you have stayed before will remember meeting our other permanent guests Ralphy & Coco. Sadly in 2017 they both passed away. The house was somewhat empty until the arrival in July 17 of Freddy and Maye. The new puppies are here growing up fast and just waiting to meet you and tell you how they got their names.
