Cultural
Find out about the Isle of Man’s traditional & unusual events. Ever fancied racing tin baths?
With plenty of unique events that make up the Isle of Man’s distinctive culture, you won’t be short of things to do whilst discovering the Island.
Some may call some of the Isle of Man’s traditional events unusual and they’d be right, that’s what makes us Manxfolk unique.
Yes we do hold the world tin bath championships, we do race Viking long boats and we do decorate turnips for Hop-tu-Naa! This is a long Celtic tradition which predates the British Tradition of Hop-tu-Naa.
In July the Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Festival takes place a celebration of Manx culture and our relationships between other Celtic countries. Plenty of dancing and singing to be done with many coming from overseas.
