T.T & motorsports

An undisputed world-class destination for motorsport

Yes we’re very famous for the Tourist Trophy (TT), Classic TT & Manx Grand Prix motorcycle racing, this just covers four of the year. The rest of the year we have many motorsport events. Hill climbing, classic cars, drag racing, trail bikes. Local, British and Irish rallying is held here over 160 stage miles. Vintage, modern, fast and slow, it’s all packed in over the year.

Festivals & shows

From food and drink to sport, music and theatre – everything is celebrated in a unique and special way in the Isle of Man!

The island has a packed calendar of festivals and shows over the year. Beer & Cider festival, agricultural shows, music, film & literature festivals. Plus darts and bowling events bring competitors from all over the world. Events are held all around the island indoor and outdoor.

Cultural

Find out about the Isle of Man’s traditional & unusual events. Ever fancied racing tin baths?

With plenty of unique events that make up the Isle of Man’s distinctive culture, you won’t be short of things to do whilst discovering the Island.
Some may call some of the Isle of Man’s traditional events unusual and they’d be right, that’s what makes us Manxfolk unique.

Yes we do hold the world tin bath championships, we do race Viking long boats and we do decorate turnips for Hop-tu-Naa! This is a long Celtic tradition which predates the British Tradition of Hop-tu-Naa.

In July the Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Festival takes place a celebration of Manx culture and our relationships between other Celtic countries. Plenty of dancing and singing to be done with many coming from overseas.

It had been 48 years since my friend and I had visited the Island and Nikki was so helpful in helping us find our original accommodation in Douglas all those years ago, she used Manx Nostalgia and was able to trace the Guest house we stayed at, that just made our return trip complete
